Apatang announces that the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), under the U.S. Department of the Interior, has published a Request for Information and Interest (RFI) as the first step in a process that could potentially lead to a lease sale for minerals on the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) offshore the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI).

Renovated Saipan Airport Commuter Terminal Opens, Strengthening Tinian and Rota Connectivity
Governor Apatang and Lieutenant Governor Mendiola joined Commonwealth leaders today to commemorate the opening of the newly renovated commuter terminal at the Francisco C. Ada/Saipan International Airport, delivering a modern facility that enhances connectivity to Tinian and Rota and strengthens our transportation infrastructure. This marks the full completion of reconstruction efforts following the damage sustained during Super Typhoon Yutu.

Governor Joins Japanese Delegates for Memorial Service Honoring WWII Fallen
This week, the Governor and his staff joined visiting delegates from Japan for a solemn and meaningful memorial service honoring the fallen soldiers of World War II. High Priest Kansho Kayaki led a Sanpoen blessing at each site in Marpi to pay tribute to those who lost their lives.
