The meeting served as a transformative opportunity to brief one of the White House’s most senior officials on the specific challenges and opportunities within the CNMI.
Governor David M. Apatang joined regional leaders at The Pacific Agenda: Investment, Security, and Shared Prosperity Summit in Hawaii this February 2026 to advance the CNMI’s priorities in economic growth and regional stability.
At the 2026 Senior Plenary Session of the Interagency Group on Insular Affairs (IGIA) at the U.S. Department of the Interior, Governor David M. Apatang delivered the CNMI’s gubernatorial address alongside fellow territorial leaders and federal partners.
Acting Governor Dennis James C. Mendiola, met with Major General Sherman, Commander of the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center, and other military leaders to engage in discussions aimed at strengthening collaboration and enhancing a mutually beneficial partnership between the ongoing military buildup and the CNMI.
