Governor David M. Apatang, alongside Lt. Governor Dennis James Mendiola and officials from the Dept of Community & Cultural Affairs Nutrition Assistance Program, announced the launch of the Nutrition Assistance Program’s Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards — a major step toward modernizing benefit delivery and strengthening transparency across government services.
While there has been a brief lapse in the distribution of benefits, card distribution will proceed as scheduled — beginning today October 23 on Tinian and Rota and October 27 on Saipan — to ensure that once benefits are available, recipients can immediately redeem them at participating stores.
The new EBT system will serve over 5,500 households across the Commonwealth, with benefits accepted at 132 stores throughout the islands.
