Governor Ralph DLG. Torres announced on Wednesday that CNMI Government employees affected by the COVID-19 pandemic are officially eligible for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) and the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

The Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality (BECQ) Environmental Surveillance Laboratory would like to inform all Public Water System (PWS) clients that it will be accepting water samples for analysis starting April 20, 2020 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Monday to Wednesday.

Governor Ralph DLG. Torres, the Governor’s COVID-19 Task Force, and the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation (CHCC) confirm two (2) new COVID-19 cases, bringing CNMI’s total confirmed case count to 13.

Governor Ralph DLG. Torres, the Governor’s COVID-19 Task Force, and the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation (CHCC) announced on Tuesday that the CNMI has received the first 20,000 COVID-19 test kits that it purchased from South Korea.

Governor Ralph DLG. Torres recently followed up on his request to the National Guard Bureau to establish a National Guard unit in the CNMI, especially as additional support is needed in response to the COVID-19 global pandemic.

Governor Ralph DLG. Torres announced on Saturday that the US Department of Labor (USDOL) Employment and Training Administration (ETA) has confirmed that the CNMI is eligible for the Federal Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) program, in addition to the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) program.

The Commonwealth Office of Transit Authority (COTA) under the Office of the Governor is set to receive over $1 million in Federal Transit Administration grants to assist with response efforts to the COVID-19 outbreak, according to the Special Assistant for Public Transportation, Ms. Alfreda P. Camacho.
