Labor provides update on supporting documents for PUA

On May 7, 2020, the CNMI Department of Labor (CNMI DOL) provided a list of general questions and answers regarding the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) and the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) programs. CNMI DOL continues to work with the US Department of Labor (USDOL) on implementation, so information may be subject to change.

Saipan East Beach Marine Water Quality Report for the Week of May 07, 2020

The Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality (BECQ) analyzed water samples collected from Saipan’s east and south recreational beaches this week. Samples collected from the following locations contained excessive concentrations of fecal indicator bacteria (enterococci) that exceeded the CNMI Marine Water Quality Standards.  

Tinian Marine Water Quality Report for the Week of May 07, 2020

Presumptive positive case is confirmed positive for COVID-19

The Governor’s COVID-19 Task Force and the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation (CHCC) officially announce that the 17-year-old male presumptive case announced yesterday, is confirmed positive for COVID-19. The total number of COVID-19 cases in the CNMI is now 15.

Governor Torres announces additional CARES Act Funding for education

Governor Ralph DLG. Torres announced on Wednesday that the US Department of Education has formally informed him of an additional $5.58 million for the CNMI under the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) Fund, as well as $22.35 million for the Public School System, the CNMI’s state education agency.
