Growing a Greener, Brighter CNMI – Arbor Month 2025

In proclamation of Arbor Day throughout the month of October, the Office of the Governor and Lieutenant Governor proudly joined forces with the Department of Lands and Natural Resources (DLNR), the Mariana Islands Nature Alliance (MINA), Pacific Coastal Research & Planning, and Smart Trees Pacific to promote a greener, more sustainable CNMI.

During the proclamation signing, Yellow Flame Trees and two Lemon Trees were planted to symbolize growth, unity, and environmental stewardship.

Following the event, on October 14th, the entire CNMI Government came together for tree and floral plantings across Capitol Hill — a resounding success with participation from nearly every agency.

Together, we are growing a brighter, greener future for our islands.
