From Capitol Hill: Across the Agencies – July 2025, Volume 13

We’re excited to highlight another month of impactful progress across the Commonwealth, including:

✅ Multi-Purpose Shredder at Work in Marpi – Funded by the EPA’s ASADRA program and coordinated by OPD, the new shredder at Marpi Landfill is helping process post-Yutu debris while supporting long-term waste management goals.

✅ CNMI Product Seal Finalized – The official CNMI Product Seal has been submitted for review, signaling a major step toward protecting the integrity of locally made goods and boosting consumer trust in CNMI products.

✅ Tinian Hosts Historic Military Visit – Rear Admirals Brett Mietus and Joshua Lasky made their first official visit to Tinian on July 3, strengthening military partnerships and reinforcing the island’s strategic importance in Indo-Pacific security.

✅ Chinatown Basketball Court Gets a Makeover – Thanks to the DLNR Parks and Recreation Division and sponsorship from Saipan Green Energy & Construction, the revitalized court now offers a cleaner, safer community space.

✅ Cultural Immersion Camp in Full Swing – DCCA, Youth Services, Indigenous Affairs, and other agencies launched the summer youth camp with talaya casting, weaving, and leklek rides—passing on cultural traditions through fun and learning.

✅ International Para-Veterinary Training Held – DLNR’s Division of Agriculture welcomed experts from the Pacific Community and Australia’s Agriculture Department for a weeklong training that advanced local veterinary knowledge and capacity.
