Governor Apatang Meets Delegate King-Hinds at U.S. Capitol Ahead of 902 Talks
Governor David M. Apatang met with CNMI Delegate Kimberly King-Hinds today at the U.S. Capitol to discuss critical priorities for the Commonwealth. This visit is part of the CNMI’s ongoing preparations for the upcoming 902 Talks with President Trump’s Special Representative, where leaders will address key issues impacting the CNMI’s future.
September is CNMI Cultural Heritage Month
Governor David M. Apatang has proclaimed September as a time to celebrate and honor our Chamorro and Carolinian heritage. From school outreach programs, cultural workshops, and the Chamorro & Carolinian Language Symposium(9/25-9/26), to Chief Aghurubw Day (9/20) and the closing Puengin Chahan Uuwm (9/27), this month is filled with opportunities to learn, share, and live our traditions.
Investing in Resilience: Multi-Purpose Center Goes Solar in Susupe
overnor David M. Apatang and Lieutenant Governor Dennis C. Mendiola inaugurated a new 60-kilowatt rooftop solar photovoltaic system at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe. Funded through the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Energizing Insular Communities program, this $169,555 project is expected to save the government an estimated $30,000 annually in electricity costs while reducing carbon emissions by 88 tons.

Governor David M. Apatang joined officials for the ceremonial groundbreaking of the new Career & Technical Education Center at Marianas High School.
Governor, Agencies Collaborate to Advance 85MW Solar Power Project
Governor David M. Apatang met with all CNMI regulatory agencies to ensure their complete cooperation with CUC as they put our Request for Proposals for 85 Megawatt of Solar Power throughout Saipan, Tinian and Rota. Governor Apatang directed the CNMI’s regulatory agencies to assist CUC in the most expeditious way possible as they apply and comply with all required regulations in building the solar farms to bring electrical billing relief to our island community.
CNMI Audit Committee Convenes to Tackle Overdue Audits
The CNMI Audit Committee held its first meeting last Friday. The meeting brought together all agencies from the different branches of the government to include autonomous agencies to address overdue audits from 2022/2023 and 2024 and to complete the audits in the specified timeline mandated by the Governor’s Executive Order.

The Department of Public Works, in partnership with our federal and local stakeholders, proudly marked a significant milestone with the ribbon cutting of the Route 33 (Beach Road) Improvements, Phase II. This achievement underscores the administration’s steadfast commitment to advancing critical infrastructure, improving public safety, and fostering long-term resilience for the people of the Commonwealth.
