Child Care Providers attend Child Development Training

On Saturday, August 13, 2022, four child care providers on Saipan participated in child development training on the required health and safety topic, Child Development.  The session was conducted by Evergreen Learning’s Quality Care Specialist, Maricar I. Pena, and held at the Evergreen Learning Training Center in Chalan Kanoa. 

Division of Energy announces 2022 Tinian Energy Educational Awareness and Community Outreach Program Campaign Drive-Thru Distribution Event

The Department of Public Works, Energy Division Office along with the Office of the Governor, Office of Grants Management (OGM), will be hosting its “2022 Tinian Energy Educational Awareness and Community Outreach Program Campaign Drive-Thru Distribution Event.” With the continuing rise in the utility rate, the Division of Energy, along with the Office of Grants Management, will be promoting energy conservation to encourage implementation of energy measures to help reduce energy use and save money by distributingPortable Gas Stove and Butane Gas Canister to residential households.     

Governor to remit 25 percent retiree pension for first quarter of FY23

In anticipation of the upcoming Fiscal Year 2023, the Administration has renewed its pledge and promise to NMI Retirees by committing public taxpayer funds to cover the first quarter of FY2023 to pay for their additional 25% pension benefits, which is on top of the 75% mandated pension under the U.S. District Court stipulated and approved settlement agreement. 

Governor Torres meets with federal transportation officials to discuss CNMI transportation needs and concerns

On Monday, August 8, 2022, Governor Ralph DLG. Torres, along with representatives and heads of the Commonwealth Office of Transit Authority (COTA), Commonwealth Ports Authority, Department of Public Works, Department of Finance, Marianas Visitors Authority, and Governor’s Council of Economic Advisers, met with top officials from the U.S. Department of Transportation, the Federal Transit Administration, the Federal Highway Administration, and the Federal Aviation Administration to discuss the CNMI’s needs and concerns with regard to transportation services.
